Realpoe

Following up to my last post, or should that be poest? I dunno.

Apparently, Poe is currently in deep legal wrangling about trying to release some new music:

“Well…alot has happened. I am chomping at the bit to tell you what the hell has been holding me up. Yes, there’s new music. No, I’m not dead…just got periodically strangled by red tape and paper weaponry. Yes. I signed some pretty screwed up contracts when I was a young moron. And yes. I’ve suffered a few…setbacks (to say the least). Just to give you an idea: fine print exists in record contracts sometimes that can prevent an artist from singing any songs that were recorded during the term of their contract—for up to 7 years! (Shit! I might be sued for singing “Angry Johnny” in my shower!) It’s amazing how much trouble you can get into when your write a little ditty and sing it to your friends. Yes. It’s a brutal business. But that’s okay. No worries. I’m a brutal artist.”

She’s written a satirical story about the problems. You can read it here.

    Hi,

I was so sad to hear about Poe’s legal battles—her story about the Psycho ship is awsome though! Full of innuendo!
Today I was on Rollingstone.com and noticed that they had added the “Hello” video to their Poe archive. But while I was there I also noticed that they had rated “Haunted” with a pathetic 2 stars and even worse, the only review posted about “Haunted” completely rips that album to shreds. Not only is the review vicious and hostile, it makes absolutely no sense! It’s as though the writer of that review had some personal vendeta against Poe and didn’t even listen to the cd.

*If you want to see the review it’s at http://www.rollingstone.com/reviews/album/_/id/88887/poe?pageid=rs.Artistcage&pageregion=triple1

I wish you’d tell all Poe fans out there that they should barage Rolling Stone with letters telling them that their review is an embarassing mistake. “Haunted” is a masterpiece and will be remembered for centuries!!!! On the ‘CONTACT US’ page of Rollingstone.com they say to write comments to letters@rollingstone.com PLeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeZE tell everyone to write them….ugh it just makes me so sick.

Okay I’m done with my rant..!

Thanks for your underground information network!!
