AXA Sun Life was today hit with a record £500,000 fine after it was judged to have “seriously misled” customers by not sufficiently detailing investment risks in an advertising campaign featuring June Whitfield and Carol Smillie.

The Financial Services Authority said the French-owned insurance firm offered free gifts to customers who bought two insurance policies, but did not explain how the products worked…

That’s according to the Media Guardian. So, no instructions for the free radio alarm clocks, huh? Oh! They mean the insurance products.
