Parcelforce Collections

Obviously Parcelforce don’t expect people who use Macintosh equipment to want to send parcels. Their on-line booking system that allows you to arrange for the pickup of a parcel only works with “all functionality” on Internet Explorer version 6.0 or better. Which will never come to the Mac.

Last time I tried to book on-line, they didn’t have this warning, which meant I never got my address labels. I rang their customer service department only to discover that they didn’t have access to the internet booking system – they could only cancel a pickup. This cancellation didn’t actually refund me though. To do that I had to e-mail Parcelforce.

Which meant to get a pickup with labels provided by Parcelforce I had to book over the phone (i.e. pay a second time and wait for my refund for the first booking).

I don’t think it’s a browser issue, it just doesn’t seem to work full stop. I’ve tried it with firefox and it works ok and prints the label.

However it certainly doesn’t work for parcelforce labels as I had to cancel two and ended up booking it on the phone, as they said it didn’t exisit. Paypal weren’t helpful either. What email address did you send to, to get a refund?

In light of this issue, and other bookings via the internet which Parcelforce failed to collect, I now always book by phone.

The e-mail address I used to get a refund was: webcollections@parcelforce.co.uk

I included the tracking code of the shipment that wasn’t fulfilled. You probably won’t hear anything back from Parcelforce – I never did. Eventually a refund appeared on my credit card.
