Partnerships
I don’t often blog about sport, but I have to mention the truly staggering third wicket partnership between Kumar Sangakkara and Mahela Jayawardene. Currently unbeaten at the time I write this, a world record partnership of 624 runs during the first test match between Sri Lanka and South Africa in Colombo.
[UPDATE] The partnership was broken at 624:
Hall to Sangakkara, OUT, Hall strikes! a wonderful knock from Sangakkara [284] comes to an end, the ball pitches outside the off stump and moves away, hint of reverse swing, Sangakkara goes for the drive, gets the edge to Boucher behind the wicket, who takes the catch.
