Kish Mauve: Modern Love
Close your eyes and imagine there’s a band that straddles the musical worlds of Goldfrapp and Client. Okay. Now take that band to a car wash. Pick the best, most expensive cleaning service – preferably a full valet service – so the band comes out shiny and clean. That’s Kish Mauve, that is.
Their music is fine. The video for Modern Love is fine. However, their website isn’t. Having dug around it earlier today, it appears to not be ready, which is a bad thing if you have a single out. Worse than that, it’s developed using something called SiteMaker (remember Moonfruit?), which means if you visit the site, rather than getting a placeholder page, you end up with curious nested Flash windows begging you to login or register:

Undoubtedly, SiteMaker has the features that an online band requires, but when I wrote Spend A Little, I should have titled it Spend A Little On The Right Things. This isn’t either. A custom-designed blog with a couple of third party widgets could do the job.
And where’s the video to Modern Love? It’s not on YouTube, which is pretty much the obligatory destination for videos at present. Let’s try their record label Sunday Best.
..have you found the video yet? Great promotion, guys. This link will save you the hassle.
