Kleerup featuring Robyn: With Every Heartbeat

If you’re following the Giorgio Moroder book of disco this song should be about ten minutes longer, because it ends just when it should be beginning. Robyn, you may remember, hit the UK charts with Show Me Love back in 1997. She resurfaced in 2005 with her critically acclaimed album, Robyn. On the other hand, I know nothing about Kleerup.

The song itself is a chugging serene train ride, it’s a brilliant exercise in disco-tech minimalism and features a heart wrenching string break.

Now repeat after me.. “and it hurts with every heartbeat”.
