Tina Dico: On The Run
And it looks like freedom and it smells like fun
But it feels like being on the run
Tina Dico’s new album Count To Ten is fast becoming one of my favourites of 2007, because like In The Red much of the album sits inside my head even when I’m not listening to it. She’s great at conveying emotions through imagery allowing the listener to recall similar events, times and places – a kind of musical synesthesia. On The Run begins road movie style, before the drums and electric guitars gallop in, which eventually evolve into a shining finale. As a bonus there’s a classic key change that takes the song nicely towards its close.
